Anna Lu
Piano
Anna has been a teacher of piano, musicianship, theory and aural training for over 20 years. She is also a sought after accompanist in Brisbane and enjoys performing with choirs and coaching budding young musicians. Anna's students enjoy a broad variety of styles ranging from Baroque to Jazz, and some of her former students now work as music educators and accompanists.
Anna graduated her Bachelor of Music in Performance with Honours and received the Music Bursary award. She also has a a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. She furthered her music studies and received a Master of Music Studies degree specialising in aural pedagogy. She is a dedicated teacher who is passionate about giving music students an all-round music education, including ear training, sight reading, appreciation of music history and styles alongside technical advancement.
Anna is also the author of Music Bumblebees' Aural and Theory workbooks series. Applying her training in her Master's degree, her workbooks bridge the gap between classroom music and instrumental music, providing young musicians an understanding to music theory using an aural approach.
Anna currently teaches at Citipointe Christian College and runs a home studio. She works as a regular accompanist for ANCA (Australian National Choral Association) and is the accompanist for the Warrigal Road State School award winning children choirs. In addition to teaching and accompanying, Anna also enjoys composing fun piano works, arrange well-known melodies to suit her students and designing music worksheets.
