Kerry Nian
Piano
Kerry Nian is a highly sought after piano accompanist, teacher, and instrumental coach. She studied Piano at University of Queensland
(Honours), followed by Masters in Conducting at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, under the tutelage of Mats Nilsson (Syd Philharmonia Choir), and the late Prof. John Hopkins AM OBE.
During her years in Sydney, Kerry worked as the music director for Sydney Mandolin Orchestra, official accompanist for Sydney McDonald’s Challenge, Cherrybrook Primary School, Australian Youth Choir, and a repetiteur for Operaworks. Kerry later spent many wonderful years in Orange, as the Head of Music Studies at the Orange Regional Conservatorium.
Returning to Brisbane, Kerry taught piano and theory at Brisbane Girls Grammar School for eight years. She is closely affiliated as an official accompanist for Brisbane Eisteddfod, UQ School of Music, Choral Connections, Australia String Association and Queensland Wind Brass Competition. She makes regular appearances performing as an associate artist at tertiary music exams, high school music extension programs, professional music association workshops, and AMEB exams.
